The Second-To-Last (not really) Scene

Skipping, hat throwing, and the general delusion that we were nearly done...

So imagine you've been filming hard for two weeks, and at last Friday comes. Everyone is exhausted, so after all the little scenes  that you'd missed before have been filmed, everyone congregates around the picnic table and tree and hangs out. Some are taking photos for a scrapbook, some are reading, some are playing with swords, others trying (not that hard) to write a new scene to be filmed at a cemetery in the evening.

When the camera won't stop filming

Finally around 4pm, more cast start arriving, the whole group of main characters. They chat and eat grapes and jerky (on set diet) while they wait for cars to be open so they can change into costume.

The directors were also two of the writers, so they often shipped their favorite characters quite hard behind -and not behind- the actors' backs... Sorry not sorry

And then everyone stands around in a circle and prepare to film what will hopefully be the second-to-last scene. Not counting the prologue, or pickups, or the scene we thought we'd filmed but ended up re-shooting twice.
By the end, people fall (people have fallen continually through the making of this movie) and hats are thrown, and then you have to pack up quickly and drive off through the smoke to film a scene about a soldier who draws in cemeteries. Normal things. But not without a group photo!
